Whatsapp is now testing the Launcher app shortcut on the Android app. With the help of these shortcuts, users will now be able to directly access any of the special features of Whatsapp. Let's say that the testing of this feature is currently running on the Android Beta app. At the moment, it is not clear how long it will be offered on a stable build.

Android Police first reported about this new features. This can be said about this launcher app shortcut that it is not very workable. The user can not update the status directly, or a pinned chat can not be reached. Rather the user gets the option to open the camera directly or go to the chat window.

There is also a shortcut 'New Chat', but those who use WhatsApp always know that new chat is rarely used. We often chat with people who are on our chat screen. This feature has on Android Beta V 2.17.277 and there is also a shortcut message for the star message. Users on the menu will be able to assign a shortcut to the swap gesture on the menu. You can also create a custom shortcut on your home screen by dragging these app shortcuts.
